The Atlanta Dream head into Thursday’s must‑win Game 6 of the 2026 WNBA Finals at a sold‑out State Farm Arena, trailing the Golden State Valkyries 3‑2 in the best‑of‑seven series.
Dream forward Angel Reese told WBS‑TV that the team’s biggest obstacle has been “self‑inflicted mistakes,” but she remains confident, saying, “I have no doubt that this team will come back, fight back, and win this Game 6.”
Dream's self‑inflicted challenges
The Valkyries entered the contest with a 64‑55 victory in Game 5, a performance anchored by a stifling defense that forced 17 turnovers and limited Reese to 2‑for‑8 shooting.
Reese emphasized that cutting turnovers and creating higher‑percentage looks are essential for Atlanta to force a winner‑takes‑all Game 7, noting the need to “force more of our own” opportunities.
Valkyries' defensive edge
If the Dream can reverse the trend, a Game 7 would shift to the Chase Center in San Francisco, with the series finale slated for the following weekend.
