Brentford have confirmed that rising star Fábio Carvalho will miss Saturday’s match with Nottingham Forest and will not return until after the November international break.
Key points
- Fábio Carvalho will be out until after the November international break, missing the Nottingham Forest match.
- Rico Henry is also sidelined with a hip and quad injury until after the break.
- Brentford have suffered only one league loss this season, to Liverpool, and enter the Forest game with a strong run of form.
- Despite occupying a relegation spot, Nottingham Forest’s recent performances suggest they may be better than the table indicates.
Head coach Keith Andrews announced that 24‑year‑old attacking midfielder Fábio Carvalho suffered a knock about ten to fourteen days ago and will be unavailable until after the November international break, meaning he will miss the upcoming fixture at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Carvalho, who has scored in each of his two competitive appearances this season – against Chelsea in the Premier League and Reading in the Carabao Cup – has been absent from the last two matchday squads, underscoring the impact of his injury on Brentford’s attacking options.
Carvalho ruled out until after the international break
Aside from Carvalho, the Bees face no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s game; however, left‑back Rico Henry remains sidelined with a hip and quad problem until the same post‑break timeframe. Andrews noted that the squad recovered well from the recent Sunderland match, with several players returning to action after a period out.
Forest currently sit in the relegation zone, a position Andrews believes does not reflect their performances. He praised Oliver Glasner’s side for playing well and possessing “magnificent players” capable of causing trouble if given the chance.
Brentford's injury list and recent form
Andrews expects the Forest encounter to be the toughest test Brentford have faced in the last week‑plus, highlighting the importance of maintaining the momentum that has seen the Bees lose only once in the league this season – a defeat to Liverpool two weeks ago.
