A Powerball ticket sold at the Wegmans Food Market on Farm View in Montvale, New Jersey, matched all six numbers drawn on Wednesday night, securing an $847 million jackpot – the ninth‑largest prize in Powerball history.
The winning combination was 15, 34, 41, 53, 56 and the red Powerball 21, with a Power Play multiplier of 2×. Because the ticket was sold at Wegmans, the retailer will receive a $30,000 bonus check from the New Jersey Lottery.
Ticket details and store bonus
The jackpot winner now faces a choice between an annuitized payout of $847 million over 29 years or a one‑time lump‑sum cash option estimated at $363.1 million before taxes, according to the official Powerball information.
New Jersey law permits lottery winners to remain completely anonymous, so the identity of the ticket holder is unlikely to become public record. The win ends a streak of 35 consecutive drawings without a grand‑prize winner, following an Illinois $1.04 billion jackpot in August.
Prize options for the winner
With the jackpot claimed, the Powerball prize will reset to its base level of $20 million for the next drawing scheduled for Saturday night.
